The 2011
MTV EMA attracted the world’s hottest talent and grabbed the attention of the world’s press and media who clamour for news footage as soon as it happens. Providing instant and easy distribution of video content, whilst ensuring secure access, is key for the MTV team.
MTV turned to Aframe to take advantage of their unique cloud-based technology, which meant that access could be granted quickly and easily without the need for specific software or hardware. Aframe is as easy to use as Facebook, so users can quickly log on to the web-based platform and start working with video instantly.
By not going with their usual FTP solution, MTV’s media contacts viewed and selected the precise clips required, rather than having to download all of the video footage and then choose specific clips afterwards. This vastly reduced the time taken for video content to be distributed amongst global TV broadcasters, magazines and news agencies.
Kate Laverge, VP Communications at
Viacom International Media Networks said enabling members of the media to access footage more quickly and easily than ever before gave the event an even greater impact.
“
Speed and ease of access to the video news footage is critical in publicising a production of the scale of the 2011 MTV EMA. But so is security. Aframe helped us achieve both”.
