How Aframe helped Rising Tide
A new independent film, 'Rising Tide', has premiered after using a revolutionary new workflow with Aframe, a first for the online video production platform.
Rising Tide is a sinister story about a group of college leavers embarking on their last adventure together and becoming trapped by the rising tide on Lindisfarne. Although the film was set and produced exclusively in coastal Northumberland, the post production was a little more complicated.
Rising Tide’s Executive Producer Tom Harvey said working with Aframe simplified the project despite being a relatively new technology. "Post production on a modern feature film can be a logistical nightmare. Aframe allowed us to dub the film in Newcastle, cut the picture in Manchester and do the score from Cork in Ireland".
Aframe's online software allowed the production team to contribute to the finishing process by reviewing footage and leaving comments to precise moments on the clips’ timecode. Because everyone can work on Aframe simultaneously, the creativity of the team was not held back by having to install bulky hardware or pay out for additional software licensing.
"Aframe allowed all the creatives in the process to be in continual contact with each other on new versions, sections and suggestions, it was a truly collaborative, creative process" Harvey added.
Aframe intends to continue revolutionising workflows to help indies save time, reduce their production costs and take the stress out of filmmaking.
