How Aframe helped Thumbs Up
When Thumbs Up Productions moved editing in-house for a new
production, they needed to think carefully about a secure and reliable
back-up strategy for their rushes.
Previous projects had relied on an external edit house’s storage to
provide secondary back up. “In the event of a fire or break-in at our
offices, at least our media would be safe” commented producer TJ
Sherbrooke.
Thumbs Up selected Aframe for storage back up for a new six hour
medical documentary series, for the Biography Channel. The Canon XF305
shoot generated a lot of high resolution media that needed to be quickly
ingested and stored on Aframe's cloud storage network. Being able to
retrieve the media easily and quickly in the event of a problem was also
important for Thumbs Up in the event of a problem.
Aframe takes the security of data extremely seriously. Data is held
within a multi-layered security system to ensure that only people
organisations approve are able to access the footage. Located on
Aframe's own private cloud network, footage is backed up twice in
separate locations 400 miles apart, behind extremely tight security.
